Move over Jenna, A.D.'s got a new helper.
Pretty Little Liars Season 7 Episode 14 'Power Play' revealed the latest member of the A-Team. Underneath the hoodie this time was... Sydney Driscoll! At first she claimed to be A.D., but it soon became clear that she wasn't really calling the shots. So what has Sydney got to do with it all? Why was she acting as A.D.'s decoy? Let's take another look at her story on PLL so far to find out what we really know about her.
When we first met Sydney she had just transferred to Rosewood High.
She joined the swim team and wanted Emily's help to get her off the bottom of the roster.
For a while she and Emily seemed to get on really well.
That smile could fool almost anyone.
But we soon found out that she was friends with Jenna and part of Mona's army.
Talk about double trouble.
Then she grilled a drunk Hanna for information about what happened in New York.
And she officially entered our list of PLL characters not to be trusted.
But she was caught when Spencer and Emily saw her with Jenna at the optometrist.
It turned out that Sydney had known Jenna for a couple of years. They met when Sydney volunteered at Jenna's blind school. Jenna felt scared and alone when she heard Ali was coming back to Rosewood High so she reached out to Sydney to help her feel safe.
However, she tried to convince Em that she had actually been her friend too.
Although she seemed genuine, it was too late. She had already lost Emily's trust.
At Christmas she tried to make amends again.
But not even the spirit of Christmas could make Emily forgive her.
Then we discovered she had joined Ali's Army with Jenna.
Despite the fact they both thought Ali killed Mona, in Jenna's words they were "doing what they have to do to survive" -- so it seems Sydney has a habit of siding with whoever she thinks is the stronger team.
After that we didn't see Sydney again until her appearance in the 7A Finale.
Which was a serious blast from the past.
She appeared again in the photos of the charity gala that the Senator's daughter attended.
Which made Emily and Aria suspect that Sydney was the source behind Runway Rebel's blog on the design of Hanna's dress being stolen AND that she might be the person who shot Spencer.
When Emily confronted her about her involvement, she claimed she was innocent.
But by this point we knew not to trust a word Sydney says.
Aria and Emily followed her, hacked into her conversation and heard her making a deposit on behalf of A.D.
We knew she wasn't to be trusted. When Aria and Emily cornered her about it later, she told them she didn't know who A.D. was and that they were just an anonymous client of the bank she worked. Did we believe that? Uh, NO.
Her dark side was revealed when she appeared in the black hoodie in Season 7 Episode 14.
At first she told Aria she was A.D., but we weren't convinced...
We soon worked out that Sydney was just a puppet.
And she seemed scared, really scared. So was she working for A.D. against her will?
And when Aria asked her why she was working for A.D. her answer was:
So once again Sydney's chosen to be on the stronger team. This girl changes allegiances almost as much as Mona.
