Maggie Baptisteplayed by Salli Richardson-Whitfield
The secret program is headed by Maggie Baptiste, a skilled veteran of covert operations.
Salli Richardson-Whitfield is an industry veteran of over 30 years. She was the lead actress on the Syfy hit Eureka for five successful seasons and has been featured in over twenty major motion pictures including Posse and A Low Down Dirty Shame. Mrs. Richardson-Whitfield has starred across some of the most powerful leading actors in Hollywood: Samuel L. Jackson in The Great White Hype, Denzel Washington in Antwone Fisher, and of course, Will Smith in I Am Legend. She has further cemented her own "legend" with a featured arc in Aaron Sorkin's HBO hit The Newsroom and has even lent her sultry voice to the cult classic cartoon Gargoyles. She can currently be found working on her passion project A Lady Must Live, a bio play about the life and struggles of entertainment and activist icon Ms. Lena Horne. Mrs. Richardson-Whitfield showcases her singing talents as well in this amazingly accurate depiction of Ms. Horne. She can now be seen jousting on the hit show Being Mary Jane opposite Gabrielle Union.
Behind the camera, she directed two episodes of her show Eureka and directed the short film Grace, which she conceived. She enlisted the writing skills of Ms. Ava DuVernay, who wrote and directed Middle of Nowhere, which won her Best Director honors at Sundance. Mrs. Richardson-Whitfield also went on to direct the gritty pilot presentation Four Corners, the tale of a young basketball phenom who discovers that the perils of success are just as dangerous as the mean streets.
Mrs. Richardson-Whitfield has also proven herself worthy of producing. She produced the made for TV movie Teachers for Magic Johnson's network, Aspire. She also co-produced the inspiring film for Lifetime, Pastor Brown. Mrs. Richardson-Whitfield can now be seen on Freeform's Stitchers and in Bill Duke's documentary Light Girls, and across from Isaiah Washington in the film Sin Seer.
Mrs. Richardson-Whitfield is a wife and mother who participates in countless charitable and philanthropic events annually as well.
