Gift wrapping is a legit art form, and that's why we've created the only (yes only) gift wrapping competition show, Wrap Battle to celebrate it. You'll be inspired to up your holiday wrapping game watching host Sheryl Underwood and judges Carson Kressley and Wanda Wen search for America's top gift wrapper. So who is competing to be the best? Meet the Contestants
And here's a little more on each one of the creative contestants and their unique wrapping styles.
Born in the Philippines before moving to the US at just nine months old, Anthony attended the Rhode Island School of Design where he received a degree in metalsmithing and jewelry. Having designed a ring commissioned by Lady Gaga, he has the skills and drive to create truly amazing wrapping feats.
Anthony remains client focused when gift wrapping, but enjoys weaving in his artistic talents such as origami, painting, and sculpting.
Mia runs a wrapping paper company called "That's a Wrap!" and runs workshops in her store to teach the world how to wrap. Her self-starter attitude makes her a determined contestant who is ready to use all of her skills to win this competition. She describes herself as a "gift wrapping Goddess" and is inspired by interior design, fashion, and art.
Mia's wrap style is focused on the luxurious and avant-garde. She knows what works and isn't afraid to interpret the gift-giver's emotions towards the gift-receiver.
Gigi is a paper artist from Ohio who owns Florette by Josette, her business where she designs permanent art installations, weddings, events, and more. She is incredibly versatile with her art skills and prides herself on her ability to create art out of anything.
To accentuate the meaning of the gift, Gigi creates unexpected gift wrap, giving her wrapping style a unique twist.
When he's not working at his busy day-job as an event coordinator, Joe teaches himself how to wrap to an impossibly high standard. He loves Christmas, which is probably why he is sometimes mistaken for an elf. His family has designated him as their chief holiday decorator, and he shares his wrapping and crafting skills worldwide via his YouTube channel.
Joe's wrapping style is incredibly specific and organized because he can't stand a chaotic work environment.
Anita was born in Yugoslavia and moved to Chicago when she was six. She is obsessed with Christmas and is the founder and owner of "Dallas Gift Wrap Creations." Her love of Christmas means she has a tendency to leave her Christmas tree up for years at a time, but this only adds to her wrapping strengths.
Anita's sophisticated wrapping style is fresh, professional, and beautiful, and is sure to impress the judges.
Kimberly lives in Atlanta and has claimed to have wrapped everything, from bikes to porches, and has 2 rooms dedicated to her craft at home. As a science geek, she enjoys getting to know how things work from the inside out. Gift giving is her true hobby however, because it combines her two great loves of creativity and hospitality.
Kimberly's wrapping style emphasizes Japanese handmade papers, silk flowers, and high quality ribbon.
Olga Van Light
Olga started designing dresses when she was just five years old and attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. Famous for her designs in Russia from the age of 12 to 20, she is incredibly talented at everything she tries her hand at, including paper crafting, origami, and painting her own paper.
Her wrap style is eclectic but fun, as she enjoys using unexpected materials to rethink the final presentation.
Eddie has extensive design experience and loves to share his passion for the living arts with others. He’s the Co-founder and Chief Content Creator of Maximalist Studios, which specializes in environmental photography for home design and consumer products, and he’s the author of Modern Mix: Curating Personal Style with Chic & Accessible Finds. Eddie’s also been a design, decorating and food magazine editor, styled parties and table settings featured in major publications, and lectured on a variety of living arts from food to gardening to entertaining.
Eddie brings his inventive and out-of-the-box approach to his wrapping, as well as his gift of using unexpected items in new and imaginative ways.
Parker is an insurance agent by day, but describes herself as a "Gangsta Wrapper" by night. She thrives off of over-the-top holiday celebrations and loves bringing the festive feeling to her clients, wrapping everything with love and often adding trinkets such as bells or ornaments as a final flourish.
Parker's wrap style is whimsical and over-the-top, with a distinctive "Parker" feel to it.
