The best way to spread Christmas cheer is by watching your favorite festive movies. Check out our list of the best heartwarming holiday moments below, then grab a huge bowl of Pop Secret popcorn, curl up with your loved ones, and get watching!
1. When the Grinch's heart grows three sizes.
It might be because lying down on the floor and yelling "I'm feeling" is the best response to anything, but this moment from Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas has to be one of the greatest scenes of all time. It will definitely make your heart grow at least one size. And maybe two.
2. When the girl in The Polar Express sings "When Christmas Comes To Town".
It's so sincere, so pure, and so full of excitement. Basically, this entire moment from The Polar Express is designed to make you well up and feel all the Christmas tingles. If you are watching this with someone and their bottom lip doesn't at least wobble, they might be a robot. Proceed with caution.
3. When Buddy freaks out because Santa is visiting.
Buddy the Elf is the embodiment of Christmas joy. Every minute of Elf should be used as a handbook on how to act during December. It might be Buddy's innocence, his undying love for those around him, or the fact his diet is similar to ours, but we can't help but adore this heartwarming classic.
4. When the Griswolds watch the Christmas Star.
So it turns out to be a light at the sewage treatment plant rather than the Christmas Star, but it's still a moment that makes our hearts melt like butter. Watching National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation always reminds us that Christmas doesn't have to be perfect to mean something.
5. When Jack Skellington discovers Christmas Town.
Look at his little face! If ever you want to remember just how magical Christmas is, all you need to do is watch a giant skeleton discover the holiday. True, The Nightmare Before Christmas does take a dark turn and Christmas is almost ruined, but for the entirety of Jack singing "What's This?" we are enchanted.
6. When Charlie and Scott hug goodbye.
We can't help but sob through the entire ending of The Santa Clause -- when Scott realizes his responsibilities and makes good with his family. And if that wasn't enough of a tear-jerker, Charlie crying and saying "I love you, Santa Claus" just pushes us over the edge.
7. When Scrooge finds his Christmas spirit.
Watching how happy Scrooge becomes on Christmas morning makes all his ghostly trials worthwhile. We can't decide if our favorite moment in Disney's A Christmas Carol is when Scrooge crashes his nephew's party, sings with Tiny Tim, or dances joyously around the streets of Victorian London. They're all enough to cheer the grumpiest of humbugs.
8. When Santa realizes that Arthur is the true Santa Claus.
There are so many beautiful moments in Arthur Christmas, but none make our heart melt like the moment when Malcolm, Arthur and Steve watch a child unwrap their presents on Christmas morning. The utter delight on Athur's face is only slightly better than Malcolm's realization that he's found the next Santa Claus. It's too much, you guys. Too much.
9. When Luther decides he's staying home for Christmas.
The entire ending of Christmas With The Kranks is just one big emotional roller coaster. Firstly, we have everyone coming together for the Christmas party, then (tissues at the ready) Luther gives his dream vacation to Walt and Bev, and finally Luther and Nora stare lovingly through their window and hug in the snow. ADORABLE.
10. When Lucy melts Jack Frost's frozen heart.
It's hard to pin down exactly what is so perfect about this scene from The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause. Lucy's adorable little voice? The fact it seems like Jack wanted to be good all along? Or is it how glowy and happy everything becomes when his heart is finally thawed? Who knows? It's just perfection.
