It's self-improvement month!
And to celebrate, we've rounded up some tips from our favorite Freeform shows on ways you can continue to grow. Whether you're making big changes to your routine, or taking tiny baby steps, it all counts towards building a better you.
1. Get out of your comfort zone.
It's cheesy, but doing something that scares you is a great way to develop and grow. Whether it's taking a dance class that makes you nervous, or booking flights and traveling the world, be fearless like Shadowhunters Jace and Clary.
2. Pick up a new hobby.
3. Create a mood board.
4. Start an exercise routine.
Having an exercise routine is a great way to enrich your life and get healthier. Paige and Rainer from Famous In Love get their hearts racing while dancing but you can opt for anything that helps get your endorphins flowing.
5. Re-assess your living space.
If you've just been through a big change in your life like Holden from Beyond or you just feel like your thoughts have been a little messy lately, reorganizing and cleaning out your living space can help bring a fresh perspective.
6. Download some new tunes.
If you're stuck in a rut, a quick way to change your mindset is to download some new albums. Or if you're feeling like Grace and Brandon from The Fosters you could always make your own music to get into a new creative groove.
7. Try to have a leisurely breakfast.
Try and plan your schedule so that you have some time for yourself in the morning. If you can take a few minutes to chill out, think through your goals and maybe laugh over a pastry like Elliot from Young & Hungry, then you can approach the rest of the day with a lot more purpose and calm.
8. Read a book.
Whether you're trying to unlock some ancient secrets or just chill out, try and take thirty or so minutes out of your day to curl up with one.
9. Practice some self-care.
It's important to regularly take some time out for yourself. It could be a bath, a new candle or, if you're feeling adventurous like Jane from The Bold Type, a crazy new beauty treatment. Just put aside some time for you and really relax.
10. Put the phone down.
Every now and then it's good to detox from endless emails, push notifications, and texts. Whether you're prompted by a big event or you just 'can't even' like Alexis from Famous In Love, a little time away from the phone can help you be more present in the moment.
