The Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings Special is available on Freeform right now!
Which means it's time to get to know all the happy couples. Eric and Ruby contacted Disney to arrange a ceremony to renew their vows. They ended up with a seven-tier cake, an incredible castle backdrop and a live performance by their favorite acapella group, the Pentatonix! Here are some interesting facts about this beautiful bride and groom:
Ruby and Eric met through his mom!
Eric's mom and Ruby worked together. He met her when he was on a visit home from college. They chatted long distance for a few months before becoming an official couple on May 7th -- their anniversary is the same day as this special! Now they have two children and have been married for nine years.
Eric planned the proposal to be a double surprise.
Ruby didn't know what he was planning, or that he was home from duty. He got her friends to take her on a sunrise walk up in the mountains, while he got up at 4am to be there when she reached the top!
Ruby is a huge Pentatonix fan!
Both the bride and groom love acapella, especially this group. Ruby chose the Pentatonix version of 'Hallelujah' as their wedding song, but Disney surprised her by getting the group to perform it live in front of the castle! Ruby says that she almost paused the wedding to get a photo taken with her favorite singers, but she decided to get married first. In the end, Eric is the only one who got a picture with them!
Did you spot all the hidden Mickeys?
The Carpos love spotting hidden Mickeys around Disneyland parks and resorts. The kids get super excited whenever they find one. So Ruby and Eric really appreciated all those special details in their wedding, especially the diamond Mickeys in Ruby's bouquet!
The Carpos advice to other couples getting married:
Plan it together because it will bring you closer. And make sure to always compromise.
Ruby's dress is inspired by Beauty and the Beast.
The bride spent almost five hours trying on Disney dresses before picking the perfect one. She really liked The Little Mermaid and Mulan gowns but they didn't fit with her theme or location. In the end, she chose the Belle dress because it made her feel like a princess. And, as it was a part of the 2017 collection, she knew not many people would have worn one like it!
This bride and groom are obsessed with Disney!
Ruby fell in love with Disneyland the first time she visited the park. She says that it feels like a magical place where you can leave your worries and stress behind. Eric likes it because he says they don't have to "adult" while they're there. They can revert to being kids again. When the family got their first yearly pass they visited Disneyland resorts and parks fifty four times in one year!
Want to know more about their wedding cake?
They chose one with a World of Color theme. Ruby says she made a joke about having seven tiers, then the Disney wedding planner actually made it happen! The Carpos love churros so the inside of their cake was churro-flavored. Delicious!
If you could have any Disney character in your wedding, who would it be?
Ruby chose to have the Princesses; Ariel, Belle and Cinderella as bridesmaids. While Eric wanted some more fun characters like Goofy and Genie, plus the Fairy Godmother to grant all their wishes. Sounds like the perfect wedding party!
Congratulations to Ruby and Eric on their beautiful ceremony!
Also known as, Princess Ariel and Prince Eric if they were part of the magical world of Disney.
