Emily's On A Warpath
Emily confronts Mona about whether she called Charlotte the night she was killed. Mona confesses that she had asked Charlotte to meet her at the Two Crows but explains that Charlotte didn't show, leaving her in the diner for two hours with nothing but an apple pie for company. Not entirely convinced by Mona’s story, Emily questions whether it had been her who had tried to run her over in the parking lot. Mona explains that she had still been working for Yvonne’s mother then and that it couldn’t have been her.
The Ticking Time-Bomb
Emily goes on to accuse Mona of wanting Charlotte to be released, saying that this was why she’d had a change of heart in the hearing. Mona insists she had just wanted to talk to her, saying that Charlotte knew everything about the girls of Rosewood and was a ticking time bomb just waiting to go off. All she had wanted to do was find out what Charlotte was going to do with her new found freedom. When Emily asks Mona what she had planned to do if Charlotte had shown up, Mona simply replies “what would you have done?”
Keep Your Mona's Close...
Later that night, Emily fills Spencer and Aria in on her encounter with Mona. The trio conclude that since Mona has confessed to being the brunette on the phone, that they should tell lieutenant Lydia Tanner and get Aria off the suspect list. They'll tell Mona that they believe her story in the hopes that a free-range Mona would be more likely to lead them to more information.
Taking A Fall
At Lucas’s house, he works on fixing the control system while Hanna explains to Jordan that she won’t be coming to visit him in New York. Hanna gives Lucas a gift to thank him for letting her stay. Get Well Soon?

Aria also learns a lot about the last time Nicole and Ezra saw each other before she was abducted and how much Ezra regrets parting with Nicole on a bad note. Ezra hands her a draft chapter and admits that they didn’t quite get it right. so Aria tells him to go work on it. Meanwhile, Alison explains to Hanna that she is being discharged in the morning and will be heading back home to Rosewood since Elliot needs to attend a conference in Chicago. Hanna is looking at the abundance of flower bouquets given to Alison when she notices a card with a staircase on the front. She opens it and sees a drawing of each of the five girls inside, three of which are crossed off in red marker.
Meanwhile, in Rosewood...
Emily video calls Spencer and turns her phone to show Mona talking to Sara’s driver on a park bench. Investigation ensues and the duo arrive outside Rosewood City Hall. When the driver emerges carrying a large tube, the girls follow him as Emily rushes back to get her car. The girls fake a car crash and Emily insists that the driver inspect his car for any damage and ensures him that she’ll pay for everything. Spencer subtly takes the tube from the drivers hand and takes a look inside, uncovering the blueprints for basement floor in The Radley and a key for room 193.
“I murdered Charlotte”
Once the driver has left, Spencer goes back to the City Hall and tries to get a copy of the Radley blueprints. Meanwhile, Emily watches the driver to see what he does next and soon sees Sara pull up in a silver car. Uhm. For a girl who doesn't have the use of her hands - should she be driving? How? This is definitely a puzzle.
Meanwhile, Hanna shows Caleb the card that she found with some of Alison’s flowers. Fearing for the girl’s safety, Hanna says that they need to give up Charlotte’s killer to the new stalker. When Spencer arrives, Hanna and Caleb are waiting and Spencer looks alarmed to see them together. Hanna explains that the night at the hotel when Spencer was asleep, she left the room and followed Aria and Ezra to the square. She says how she saw Charlotte go into the church so she went in after her. She reveals how she picked up a candle stick and stabbed her in the back of the neck with the end of it. She goes on to tell Spencer how she took Charlotte’s body up to the bell tower and threw her off, and how she had pretended that she had only been out of the hotel room for a minute to get ice. She says how stealing the security drive wasn’t because Aria was on it, but because she had been on it.
Hanna And Caleb Have A Plan
A look of shock spreads across Spencer’s face. Hanna turns to Caleb and says “she believed it!” Right? Because, like, we did too! A furious looking Spencer questions what is going, before Caleb explains that they’ve figured out how to end this. Emily voices her concerns about Hanna’s plan, worrying what would happen if she confessed and was marched down to the police station to confess to Tanner. When Spencer and Emily continue to question the likelihood of the plan working, Hanna takes hold of Calebs hand and assures them that it will.
Also, though? Can we talk about the adorable flashback to Spain with Spaleb on the balcony? Adorable little dog plus so very many feelings.
Dinner With Jillian
After Ezra and Aria finish the dinner with Ezra's publisher, Jillian, she takes Aria to one side and explains that she is no longer to work with Liam on this project. Jillian explains how her and Liam’s relationship was no secret and that she doesn’t want anything to affect the book or those involved. Aria receives a phone call from Emily who tells her that she needs to tell Ezra what is happening.
No More Games
Back at the hospital, Alison is visited by the ghost of her mother, Jessica DiLaurentis, in a dream. She explains that Elliott will be able to protect Alison the way that she wasn’t able to. Later that night, Mona meets with Sara in a parking lot. Mona warns her to stay away from the Liars but Sara merely retorts that after she herself played with them for so long, they’d never trust her, but Mona merely reiterates, “no more games.”
Leave My Friends Alone
In a coffee shop, Ezra questions Aria as to why she's acting oddly. Aria explains that she thinks the fire and Alison falling down the stairs weren’t accidents and that they need to do something about it. Back at Lucas’s apartment, Spencer, Emily, Ezra and Aria listen to the plan Hanna and Caleb have formulated. Caleb explains that whether the others agree on this or not, they plan on going ahead with it. After little objection, Hanna takes out her phone, types “leave my friends alone. I killed Charlotte” and sends it off to the big bad. That's Hanna, team - not afraid to use herself as bait to pull a new stalker out of hiding.
