The series finale of Shadowhunters is Monday, May 6th at 8/7c on Freeform. Prepare yourself by watching some of the most iconic Shadowhunters episodes before the series finale! Everything we learned throughout these three seasons has been leading up to this moment, so clear your schedule this weekend and start binging.
Before we reach the end, we've got to go back to the beginning! Back to a time when Clary and Simon didn't know about the Shadow World, Luke was hiding from his past, Izzy didn't get taken seriously by her parents, Alec was not head of the Instutute, Magnus was a "lothario" and Jace thought his father was Michael Wayland.
We learned more about the werewolves in this episode, and Luke became the official Alpha of the Jade Wolf pack. We also got to see Izzy save Simon (again) while Clary stumbled closer to the truth about her secret brother.
Another big moment in Shadowhunters history, the first Clace kiss! Also the first time Clary slapped Jace, but it was for a good cause. Remember when our biggest problem was finding the Mortal Cup? Those were the good old days.
Simon's transformation into a vampire was really emotional, but now we can't imagine him as anything else. This episode was all about Downworlders uniting to protect one of their own from the corrupt Clave, pitting Jace and Alec against each other.
Goes without saying, this is a must watch. The only thing more exciting than a wedding, is a wedding that gets interrupted with a declaration of love. ❤️ Even Lydia was blown away by this incredible first kiss.
Jocelyn woke up just in time to ... try and kill Jace. Not a good look on her. But we did learn a lot more about Valentine's experiments on his son, even if we didn't know who that son was at the time.
Our first introduction to Maia — and she was real mad. Jace did everything he could to get to his parabatai, and Magnus tried to resuscitate Alec with a kiss. It was like something out of a fairytale, except it didn't work.
Jace saved Simon's life and turned him into a Daylighter, Valentine revealed he was not Jace's father, Malec said "I love you" and Raphael almost died when the Soul Sword was activated — this episode was action-packed! All the Clace shippers were excited to see what would happen next ...
Our first peek into the Seelie Realm and it was glorious! Poor Simon got his heart broken and was almost eaten by a tree, but we couldn't help swooning a little during that Clace kiss. Meanwhile, Alec started up his Downworlder Cabinet, which brought all of our favorite people into the same room at one time.
Clary and Jace were almost killed (execution style), then Valentine killed Jace, Clary killed Valentine, the Angel Raziel granted her a wish and she brought Jace back to life. Meanwhile Malec reunited, and Lilith found Jonathan. We were complete emotional wrecks after this season 2 finale.
Clace's first official date turned into an extremely awkward, yet fun, double date with Simon and Maia. We learned about Asmodeus' connection to Magnus, the power behind Simon's new mark, and how Maia stashes clothes around town in preparation for her werewolf transformations!
The episode where Clary and the others finally found out that Jace was the Owl! His experience being influenced by Lilith is something that might help him comfort Clary now that she's been disconnected from Jonathan. Maryse was de-runed but Luke didn't seem to mind, while Sizzy had a romantic moment after fighting Heidi.
This mid-season finale was action-packed: Magnus gave up his magic to save Jace, Simon encanto-ed his mom so she would believe he was dead, Lilith performed a dark ritual to bring her son back to life, and the Mark of Cain caused an explosion, leading everyone to believe that Clary was dead. And if that was just the mid-season finale, what can we expect from the end of the series?
Jonathan in his true form, Luke on the hunt for Clary, Magnus without his powers, what didn't this episode have happen?
Look, we don't want to spoil it for you... just go watch it.
