1. Practice fighting!
When Valentine was pretending to be Michael Wayland he tried to help Jace improve his fighting skills. What better time to continue that training than when they're traveling the world on an evil boat lair?
2. Talk about Jocelyn!
Jace has only ever seen his mother while she was unconscious, or heard about her through Clary. It would be nice if Valentine would talk to his son about Jocelyn and their history together.
3. Get a new falcon!
We all remember the falcon story. Valentine wanted to teach Jace that love makes us weak so he killed his pet bird! If he wants to mend his relationship with Jace, Valentine should probably consider getting him a new pet. And not killing it this time.
4. Control some Demons!
After all, Valentine has the Mortal Cup now so it should be pretty easy.
5. Explain the Michael Wayland situation!
We all know that our parents like to do what they think is best for us. But was pretending to be someone else and then pretending to die really the best idea, Valentine? We're sure Jace has even more questions than we do about some of his father's past decisions.
6. Deal with their emotions!
Specifically Jace. He's got a lot of unresolved issues to sort out. Since Alec isn't here to give advice, the least Valentine can do is be a sympathetic listener!
7. Catch up on many years apart!
Jace can tell his dad about life at the New York Institute. Valentine can tell his son about all of his plans to take over the world. It's win-win!
Can you think of some more father-son activities that these two can bond over?
