Season 3 just keeps getting better and better...
First we get official Camsten. Then we get an awesome new character in the form of Camille's new love interest Amanda. Now in season 3 episode 3 we get what is quite possibly the best case the team has had to solve. Get ready people, because this episode has more twists than a roller coaster.
1. Cameron is getting used to his new position as Maggie's replacement.
At first it all seems to be going well for Cameron. The chair is great, the office is great, Kirsten sitting on his lap on the chair in the office is great. But it turns out Maggie's job was actually pretty hard and Cameron doesn't exactly hit the ground running.
2. Camille is really angry... and hungover.
Linus and Cameron both have to deal with Camille's fury after she misses out on Maggie's job. Camille reminds Linus that trusting Ivy is what cost her the job and reminds us that angry-Camille is the scariest thing in the world.
3. The team set out to solve one of their most complex crimes to date, the death of Mark Broden, frequent cheater.
What do we know? Mark Broden was a divorce lawyer who had multiple lovers and multiple enemies. His wife threatened to kill him, making her the prime suspect. However, there are a number of other persons of interest: 'The Mummy,' a scorned lover whose face is wrapped entirely in bandages, 'Doc Hollywood,' a glamorous plastic surgeon, and finally, 'Miss Perfect,' a mysterious lover who was in bed with Broden at the time of death.
4. Kirsten really struggles with her breathing.
The team discovers that Broden died of asphyxiation and Kirsten is affected by this during the stitch. Likewise, after watching Broden's sexual memories, Kirsten once again gets a little hot under the stitch-suit-collar. Not only is Kirsten's stitching ability affected, Cameron's concern for her impairs his job performance.
5. We discover that Broden's wife did shoot him...but he was already dead.
Camille and Fisher go and interview the widow Broden. She complains that he ruined her life, pressuring her to have plastic surgery and then sleeping with her surgeon. Furious, she snuck into his apartment and shot him while he was sleeping. However, Broden was already dead. That leaves Doc Hollywood, The Mummy, and Miss Perfect as suspects.
6. Meanwhile back in the stitch lab, Linus has bad news.
Linus discovers that a significant rise in oxytocin is flooding Kirsten's brain, causing her to get all loved up and interfering with her abilities to stitch. Originally this hormonal surge seemed to be coming from the victim's brain. They soon realize that Kirsten's first emotional relationship is causing her hormones to go through the roof. The solution? No more physical intimacy for Camsten.
7. Fisher investigates at Broden's apartment.
While exploring the crime scene, Fisher discovers that someone has been injecting Botox, a deadly substance when ingested, into Broden's coconut water. This discovery comes about when he is accidentally sprayed in the face by the poison. Luckily, he doesn't get poisoned because he instinctively knew to keep his mouth and eyes closed in the event of a chemical attack.
8. They discover Doc Hollywood and The Mummy are one and the same.
After going to visit Mrs. Broden's plastic surgeon, Camsten discover that the surgeon has had a dramatic amount of facial surgery. This temporarily caused her to wrap her entire face in bandages and therefore be seen as The Mummy. In her attempts to be perfect for Broden, the surgeon went too far and now she has been ostracized for her extreme look.
9. But she is also not the murderer.
Kirsten briefly leaves the room to pick up a call from Camille who tells her that Broden never drank the Botox-infused coconut water. When she returns, Doc Hollywood is holding a syringe to Cameron's neck. She admits to lacing his coconut water, they struggle, but Cameron is able to break free and arrest her. This leaves two women who admit to attempting to murder Broden, but no one who actually did.
10. Miss Perfect is not what she may seem.
After stitching back into Broden, the team go closer to the death memory. They notice that, in his last gaspy moments, Broden picked up Miss Perfect and locked her in a secret room in his apartment. Fisher and Camille race to go and free her but soon discover that Miss Perfect is in fact a companion doll, brought to life in Broden's memories by his appreciation of her 'perfection.'
11. Camsten visit the "Valley of the Love Dolls."
After learning that Miss Perfect had an audio and video recorder, Kirsten and Cameron go to visit the creators of Broden's perfect woman. They meet Sam and Julie, the artists responsible for these creations. It is clear that Julie is Sam's muse and he even admits to becoming violent one time a creep made a comment about her looks.
12. Meanwhile at Casa Camille...
Camille and Amanda are being adorable and playing the guitar for each other. Pleeeeease can these two sing together more? It's the gift we all deserve.
13. Kirsten and Ivy also bond.
It's nice to see Kirsten is finally getting some family time.
14. And then everything goes crazy.
Linus discovers that Miss Perfect is made from Latex Ducoflex 9090, a substance which Broden is deathly allergic to. However, when they pull up the order history for Miss Perfect, the team discovers two interesting facts. First, Broden knew he was allergic to Latex and requested that the doll be made of an alternative material. Second, Miss Perfect was the second Love Doll ordered by Broden. He returned the first, a model which looked identical to Julie, because it was not beautiful enough.
15. Cameron gets a second syringe held to his neck.
The team goes and questions Sam who admits to being furious about the return, prompting him to make Miss Perfect out of the material which would ultimately kill Broden via an allergic reaction. After a brief struggle where Cameron gets yet another syringe of poison held to his neck, the team manages to arrest Sam. Ladies and Gentlemen, we finally have our murderer.
16. Camsten focus on the important stuff.
The team all goes home to their respective partners. Linus and Ivy act cute. Camille and Amanda continue being the newest hottest couple in town. Fisher and Stephanie get steamy in the shower after working on their relationship. Finally, Cameron and Kirsten snuggle up in bed watching movies. They agree to cool the physical side of things in order to preserve Kirsten's stitching abilities...at least until they've found her Mom.
